Edgar Wright Research

For my research i am looking at film director Edgar Wright, who is famous for films like Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. He attended Bournemouth Arts College. Edgar's first film with a theatrical release was "A Fistful of Fingers" which started his career into television. It wasn't until he Directed the TV series "Spaced" which got him recognized in the UK, it was also what got actor Simon Pegg started on his Career.

After the success of Spaced, Edgar Directed his first feature film "Shawn of the Dead" which was written by both Wright and Pegg. the film was highly acclaimed internationally, after the success of Shawn of the Dead, Edgar went on to Direct Hot Fuzz which again starred Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. After Hot Fuzz, Wright was asked by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez to direct a faux trailer Don't for the film Grindhouse.

Early in Wright's film career he used a Super 8 camera, then after winning a Comic Relief film contest he used a Video 8 camera. For "A fistful of fingers" he was using a 16mm camera.
